80th Venice International Film Festival

(August 30 – September 9, 2023)

One of the oldest film festivals in the world. There are many events, meetings, and parties, with the actors, directors & filmmakers, as well as premiers of mainstream, independent, and international films.

Regata Storica Race

(September 3, 2024)

This beloved race features rowers in period costumes competing in a series of boat races. Hundreds of boats race along the Grand Canal. There are several categories, including gondolas, women & young rowers.

Christmas In Venice

(December 2023)

You’ll find a range of events all month, including Christmas Markets, Santa’s arrival by gondola, a costumed regatta, concerts throughout the city, ice skating in Campo San Polo, and the “Glass Christmas” festival at Murano.

New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

(December 31, 2023 - January 1, 2024)

New Year’s should include “Cenone di Capodanno“, a dish made of lentils & sausage. Then head to St. Mark’s Square for a spectacular fireworks display. You can also attend the “Concerto di Capodanno” (New Year’s Concert) at Teatro la Fenice.

Venice Carnival

(February 3 - 14, 2024)

This 10-day festival includes a range of events & entertainments, including street performances, music, and of course, a masked parade. Most events take place in St. Mark’s Square, which is just around the corner from the hotel.

Venice Biennale

(April 20 – November 24, 2024)

The Venice Biennale was originally established in 1893 by the mayor of Venice Riccardo Selvatico. The first International Art Exhibition was held in April 1895. The festival is now dedicated to art, architecture, theatre & film.

Festa della Sensa (Feast of the Ascension)

(May 12, 2024)

This unique festival includes 2 main events during the day. The first part includes a procession of colorful row boats from St. Mark’s Basin. The second event commemorates the Treaty of Peace of Venice, 1177 between the papacy and the emperor.

Vogalonga Rowing Race

(May 2024 – Dates TBA)

This annual rowing race seeks to raise awareness of the problems created by motorized boats. Today, over 1,500 non-motorized boats gather at St. Mark’s Basin and race along a course around the lagoon islands to Punta della Dogna.

Festa de Redentore (Redeemer Feast)

(July 20, 2024)

One of the most important & popular events in Venice. Thousands of locals and visitors gather for three days of food, wine & celebration. The culmination of the event includes a magnificent fireworks display over St. Mark’s Basin. Incidentally, one of the best places to view the display is from our San Giorgio Terrace.
